Professional Development Foundation (PDF) is set to announce the winners of the NGOs award of excellence for 2018 on 18 December, under the auspices of the ministry of social solidarity, PDF said in a press statement.
The excellence award is a PDF initiative aiming at developing and supporting the civil society sector with an emphasis on providing the right measures to upgrade their professional and administrative capabilities as well as motivating innovation.
The initiative focuses annually on the projects targeting social problems and contributing to the development process. The awards will be handed over to NGOs winning representatives in a celebration where development experts and public figures interested in development topics are all invited.
According to the statement, the top four NGOs will be awarded financial prizes and certificates of excellence.
The civil society organizations that passed the evaluation stages will be awarded in-kind prizes and certificates of appreciation.
“The main objective of the award is to honour NGOs with successful track-record, and to develop them,” said Mohamed Farouk Hafeez, PDF chairperson.
He added that NGOs are the driving force behind a comprehensive development, as they are the cornerstone of any strong and thriving society and economy.
