Born in the city of Oran, Algeria, he moved to France at the age of 10 with his family. He established a band with some of his friends, but soon after he decided to go solo and created a unique genre of infusing oriental music into rock.

The beloved veteran star left his marks on the music rock scene with several hits including “Ya Rayeh Wein Mesafer” (Oh Traveler, Where Are You Going?), which reached number 11 on the French singles charts in 1998 when it was released.
