The Men’s Arab Volleyball Championship concluded its 20th edition at Cairo International Stadium on 24 November.
Seven countries participated: the UAE, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Palestine, and Egypt.
The Egyptian team included 12 players: Ahmed Salah, Ahmed Kotb, Ashraf Aboul Hassan, Hossam Youseef, Mohamed El-Houssiny, Abdel Halim Fahim, Ahmed Abdel Aal, Mohamed Reda, Mohamed Abdel Monem, Amr Naguib, Mamdouh Abdel Monem, and Mohamed Adel.
The final was held between the Egyptian national men’s volleyball team and the Bahraini team.
Egypt managed to reach the semifinals after defeating Jordan, Palestine, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, where the scores of these five matches were: 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-1, and 3-0, respectively.
Bahrain, on the other hand, beat the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, and Iraq, where the scores of these five matches were: 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, and 3-1, respectively.
Egypt succeeded in snatching the championship’s title from Bahrain, and in the final match Egypt won by a score of 3-0. The results of the three games were 25-23, 25-17, and 25-21, in Egypt’s favour.
Afterwards, Egyptian champion Ahmed Salah was awarded the title of “The Championship’s Best Player”.
