Bahrain cuts all diplomatic ties with Iran, Republic of Sudan follows

Saudi Arabia cut all diplomatic ties with Iran after Iranian protesters broke into its embassy in Tehran amid diplomatic tension between both countries regarding the Saudi execution of a Shi’a cleric Nimr Al-Nimr.


Bahrain has joined Saudi Arabia in their decision to end diplomatic relations with Iran, one day after Riyadh told Iranian diplomats they had 48 hours to leave the country amid rising tensions over Saudi Arabia’s decision to execute a prominent Shi’a cleric.

Following Bahrain’s decision, the Republic of Sudan also announced the expulsion of the Iranian ambassador, in Khartoum. Sudan’s Presidential Administration Tah Usman Al-Hussein notified the Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman that Sudan would also recall its diplomatic envoy to Tehran.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubair said in a press conference and that Saudi Arabia will not let Iran undermine its stability.
